Here we are at April 19th, with only a very few days left to the cutoff date to have a property undercontract by the 30th of April....are you finding people rushing to buy....is there confusion over whether this credit has been extended?
The word on the street is that these TAX CREDITS, both the $8000 TAX CREDIT for first time homebuyers (remember you qualify if you have not owned a property in the past three years!) and the $6500 TAX CREDIT for existing homeowners (You must have resided in your current residence five out of the past eight years) WILL NOT BE EXTENDED AGAIN, this is the drop dead cutoff date!
