Well when I read that Massachusetts was in the top ten at #5 for the country's worst states to retire in, I just could not believe it!
Ok so they stated high property taxes and cost of living as the basis for their findings. I do not think that I am alone in thinking that Massachusetts is a wonderful place to retire in.
So many people are now contacting me that may have sought out other states for retirement and now want that home by the Atlantic Ocean, near the golf course, in the same community as their grandchildren or in their work location as they WANT TO continue to work into their late 60's and early 70's in Massachusetts - yes want to not have to!
Massachusetts has a wonderful quality of life for all ages and I am seeing it be a mecca for those reaching a Premium Age. We have not only the fantastic opportunities available as we age to the best healthcare. We have opportunities to continue our education into our upper years, "never stop learning"- maybe I will finally become that lawyer I have always wanted to be when I reach prime time! by attending one of our world reknown universities and colleges in Massachusetts.
Our opportunities for sight seeing and dining - oh my do it by foot or by sea! Beautiful Boston Harbor islands for exploring, Cape Cod Shores, The most perfect Bershires for not only the Summer Boston Symphony but camping, dining and exploring the antique and craft fairs of Western Massachusetts.
Many communities offer reduced property taxes for those of " a certain age" (I will eloborate further on this in another blog shortly), I feel age and experience are very valued in Massachusetts.
If you are thinking of retiring or maybe changing your lifestyle, call me, let's talk, it is a big decision to make and don't let me or a magazine article or a survey by MoneyRates.com change your mind, come out and review for yourself the quality of life that is awaiting you in your "prime years" in Massachusetts.
